Overview of Convergence Online Help

Welcome to Convergence Online Help. Convergence is Oracle's feature-rich, interactive, high-performance next generation web-based communication client. Convergence provides integrated access to mail, calendar, address book, presence, chat, and social networking services.

Convergence Online Help is presented as a series of FAQs and is organized in two frames. The left navigation frame displays a hierarchical view of the help topics. Click a topic title to display the topic in the right frame.

Convergence provides Web 2.0 add-ons, including social media add-ons (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr). Your site has to enable an add-on for it to be available in the Convergence UI for you to use.

The following tables lists the currently available add-ons that could be enabled at your site.

Advertising
Makes it possible to display banner ads, text ads, and contextual ads in the Convergence UI.
Video and voice calling
Provides video and voice calling through Convergence.
Facebook
Provides direct Facebook access through Convergence. This add-on requires third-party services that are independent of Communications Suite. The Facebook add-on is only available within the social add-on.
Flickr
Provides direct Flickr access through Convergence. This add-on requires third-party services that are independent of Communications Suite. The Flickr add-on is only available within the social add-on.
Multi-network Instant Messaging
Provides access to all of a user's instant messaging accounts in a single place.
SMS
Provides one- and two-way SMS through Convergence.
Social Media
Provides access to the Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter add-ons through a Social tab in the Convergence UI. These add-ons are not available outside of the social add-on.
Twitter
Provides direct Twitter access through Convergence. This add-on requires third-party services that are independent of Communications Suite. The Twitter add-on is only available within the social add-on.
